Organic "Classico" Wine Tasting with Lunch on Vesuvius

What a beautiful end to our week in Italy! For our travel day back to London, flying out of Naples, we decided to spend the day in Pompeii. After an amazing and informative tour of the Scavi di Pompeii with Lucia Pompeii Guide Tours, our host Lorenzo with Sorrento Silverstar arranged for us to have a wonderful winery tour, lunch and wine tasting at the Russo Family’s beautiful Cantina del Vesuvio. We were warmly welcomed by Carmine, whose effervescent and joyous personality set the tone for an incredible experience, right on the Southern slope of Mt. Vesuvius. We could not decide what we enjoyed more . . . the delicious food, the informative tour, the gorgeous view and breeze from the terrazza, the PERFECT wine pairings, or the kind hospitality of our gracious hosts. Can't recommend the cooking class with Ester highly enough. It was such an incredible experience getting to tour the winery, getting to taste all of these phenomenal wines, and getting to spend time with Ester making some incredible Italian dishes right there with her in her gorgeous kitchen. The views are so incredible at the base of Mt. Vesuvius and we learned so very much. This is a perfect experience for couples wanting to connect and experience the best Italy has to offer. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

We went on a wine tasting tour at Catina Del Vesuvio, and Alfonso drove us from Sorrento to Mt. Vesuvius. He was incredible! From great recommendations to singing for us in the car, he truly gave it 100% to make sure our trip was exactly what we wanted. He even taught us about the history of what makes the food in the region so amazing (and where to get these fresh fruits/veggies for cheap)! I cannot say enough about how special our day was thanks to Alfonso.
