Circumvesuviana Train Schedules (only stops for the main tourist sights)
The Circumvesuviana station in Piazza Garibaldi in Naples is located on the lower level of the Napoli Centrale station; high-speed trains arrive on the ground level. Take the stairs down from the main floor to the underground platforms.
You can purchase tickets at the ticket office or at one of the newspaper stands inside the station.
Tickets from Naples to Pompeii currently cost EUR 2.60.
Trains to Pompeii - Sorrento almost always depart from platform 3; there is no elevator or escalator down to the underground platforms. Check the display that lists the trains in arrival to make sure you are catching the train to Sorrento and not Sarno!
It takes about 10 minutes to get to Herculaneum and about 30 minutes to Pompeii from Naples. From Sorrento, it takes about 30 minutes to get to Pompeii and about 50 minutes to Herculaneum. All trains stop at both sites.
The Sorrento train station is located in the center of town opposite Piazza Angelina Lauro.
You cannot reserve seats on the train in advance.
